In 2022 Progressive Britain published our first ever workplan, setting out our goals and aspirations for the year ahead.
As the year comes to an end, we’re now looking back to see what we achieved, what changed and share our plans for the future.
With war in Europe and economic crisis here in Britain, we’ve pivoted to focus more on what a progressive economy looks like than we planned, and that’s a strand of thinking we will maintain as the debate over how to achieve growth, and what good growth looks like intensifies in the runup to the next general election.
We’ve looked at the polling and messages around Labour’s economic stories, the key strategic industries for a high-wage, high-skill economy and the role of progressive regulation in a fair economy.
But we’ve also maintained our commitment to understanding what is happening at the level of local places, and supporting local leaders to develop progressive agendas for their communities.
And we’re kept up our efforts to reconceive the span of Labour’s history and unearth the strains of progressive thought that have been lost in factional conflict.
Of course we’ve also held more conferences and events than ever before, bringing progressives from around Britain, Europe and the United States together to learn, share experiences and tackle the shared challenges we all face.
